Several residents of Kafr El Sheikh expressed their sadness at the loss of Ahmed Tantawi, the independent candidate from the Kafr El Sheikh district, while others saw that this result was due to an alliance of other candidates against him.
On the other hand, some supporters of the candidates competing with Ahmed Tantawi expressed their joy at the loss of Tantawi. One of them said: “We were happy with the result of the screening because Tantawi was really a strong competitor, but praise God, we overcame him, he appeared at the end.”
Some residents of the Kafr El Sheikh and Qalain centers indicated that Tantawi, “the deputy from the past session”, was able to provide some services to citizens, while others mentioned that his services were limited and normal.
The loss of journalist Ahmed Tantawi in the second round of the 2020 House of Representatives elections in the first district of Kafr El-Sheikh and Qaleen became news that led to a search on the search engine “Google”, after the announcement of the preliminary results of the elections in all the departments of the province, according to the numerical inventory, and the reasons for its loss, especially after beating it in the first round.
And “Tantawi”, in the first round, according to the exclusive number in the elections to the House of Representatives, in the first constituency, “Kafr El Sheikh and Qaleen”, 44,402 votes, followed by the Wafd Party candidate on behalf of Abdul Mohsen Hamid Hegazy, 34 thousand 47 votes, and the candidate Mr. Abu Al-Zayd Sayyid Ahmad Shams al-Din, 30 thousand 877 votes, that is, more than 10 thousand votes for the second and about 14 thousand votes for the third.
In the second round, according to the numerical count, Tantawi withdrew from the competition and obtained 53,529 votes, while his competitors, Mr. Abu Al-Yazid Syed Ahmed Shams Al-Din, obtained 73,795 votes, a difference of more than 20 thousand votes for “Tantawi”, and on behalf of Abdul-Mohsen Hamid Hegazy, 63 thousand 103 votes, a difference of around 10 thousand votes, and Yasser Munir Abdul-Jawad, 62 thousand and 855 votes, a difference of more than 5 thousand with Tantawi.
These figures come in accordance with the statistical number of committees, with confirmation that the National Electoral Authority has the inherent right to announce the final results of the 2020 House of Representatives elections.
