The European Football Association (UEFA) expressed its regret over what happened at Princes Park Stadium in France’s Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir meeting in the European Champions League, which was suspended before it was officially postponed.

Basaksehir left the match stadium after a long and heated discussion with the refereeing team during the first half following the expulsion of Cameroonian assistant coach Pierre Weibo, before the fourth official spoke racist words to him.

UEFA confirmed that it will conduct a full investigation with everyone to learn the circumstances of this matter, saying in a statement: “UEFA learned of an accident that took place tonight in the Champions League between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul in Basaksehir, and will conduct a thorough investigation. “

He added: “There is no place for racism and discrimination in all its forms in football.”

And there were lengthy discussions with the Romanian refereeing team, as the Turkish team’s players protested against the fourth referee’s comments with racist words, who had directed the assistant coach before Weibo received the red card and was sent off.

It is reported that UEFA officially decided after discussions with the two clubs, exceptionally, to complete the remaining minutes of the match tomorrow (Wednesday) by managing a new team of referees.
