Laba Kodjo, forward of UAE club Al Ain
A source familiar with the management of the Al-Ahly club revealed that there are intense movements during the current period to hire Togolese Laba Kodjo, the striker of the Emirati Al Ain team, to support the Red Genie’s attack.
The source said in exclusive statements to ‘Al-Watan Sport’ that the Al-Ahly administration, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, has decided on the name of Laba Kodjo, the striker from Togo and Al-Ain Emirates, to contract with him to support the team’s attack in the next period, after the level of Marwan Mohsen, the current team’s forward, declined.
He explained that the Al-Ahly administration has already started to take the pulse of the Togolese forward, to join him in the next period, to support the team with a high-caliber forward, noting that Kodjo is very welcome to move to Al- Ahly.
He concluded that the administration offered the South African Pitso Musimani to include Laba Kodjo, to which the technician immediately welcomed, and demanded that he be included at the first opportunity, noting that he was the most suitable for the team during the next period, which which indicates that there are big moves by Al-Ahly to include the Togolese forward.
Laba Kodjo came close to moving to Al-Ahly last season but joined the Al Ain team from the UAE.
Marwan Mohsen suffers a period of bad luck during the final period, after failing to score in the Red Genius’ three crucial matches this season, against Zamalek in the African Champions League final, Alexandria’s Al-Ittihad in the semi-finals of the Egypt Cup and Tala’a Al-Jaish in the final of the Egypt Cup.
Al-Ahly had sold the contract of Moroccan Walid Azaro, former team forward, to the Saudi agreement, after the Moroccan forward refused to renew his contract for a new period with the team, while the club’s management raised the name of the club.
