The Saudi website “League Plus” confirmed the positive medical test that Al-Ahly club star, Syrian forward Omar Al-Somah, underwent.
Al-Somah was confirmed to be infected with the Coronavirus and is currently in medical isolation, while adhering to medical protocol to recover from the infection.
Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiah indicated that Omar Al-Somah will miss his team’s next match against Al-Nasr next Saturday in the Prince Muhammad Bin Salman Professional Cup League matches.
Al-Somah’s injury comes as a painful blow to the rookie, after he played 4 games for Al-Ahly last month, during which he scored 3 goals and created 7 chances.
He was also crowned the best player in the Saudi Professional League last November.
Likewise, the injury to the Syrian international striker will add to the discomfort of team Lakhdar Al-Jeddawi, after losing a lethal goal from their host Damak on the seventh day of the Saudi League matches.
Al-Somah is considered one of the legends of the Saudi Al-Ahly club, after he packed his bags in the coastal city of Jeddah in 2014 from Al-Qadisiyah, Kuwait.
Al-Somah played with Al-Ahly in 190 games in all competitions, during which he scored 169 goals and scored another 21.
Al-Ahly currently ranks third in the Saudi League standings, with 13 points from a win in 4 matches, a draw in one match and a loss from two matches.
