Al-Ahly is still trying to work out a deal with Mamelodi Sundowns to bring in Uruguayan wing Gaston Sereno before the registration gate in Egypt closes on December 6.

And the South African website “Socrladoma” published a report on Friday mentioning that Moira Musimani, wife of Betso Musimane, technical director of Al-Ahly and his agent, was trying to close the deal.

Titled “Sereno in Safe Hands,” the report indicated that Moira Musimani continues to negotiate with the Sundowns administration to complete the transfer.

The report noted that prior to Pitso’s contract renewal with Sundowns last May, negotiations got complicated before they could be completed successfully and put Betsu on a four-year contract.

The report also mentioned the importance of their role in completing the transfer from Betso to Al-Ahly in negotiations that lasted only 48 hours.

Usher Komugisha on Twitter:

Previously, Sereno confirmed his desire to leave Sundowns in light of his five-year contract.

While Pitso Mosimane stressed that Al-Ahly liked Sereno before coming to coach the team, and confirmed that he was not behind the player’s request to leave the team.

“So far, Moira’s job has been suspended before the transfer closes in Egypt on Sunday, but her reputation at work precedes her,” the report concluded.
