CAF chooses the best saves in the Champions League … a strong Egyptian presence

The African Football Confederation (CAF) selected the best goalkeeping saves during the season ending in the 2019-2020 CAF Champions League, amid a strong Egyptian presence.

Al-Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawi, the African champions, appeared on two shots in which he avoided two goals for Etoile Sahel in the group stage and Moroccan Wydad in the semi-finals.

El-Shenawi saved a penalty in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Wydad in Morocco, to secure Al-Ahly’s journey to the final and the ninth title.

Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Abu Jabal, champion, also appeared in two shots, the first against Esperance of Tunisia in the quarter-finals and the second against Raja of Morocco in the semi-finals.

“CAF” announced the best goals of the season in the presence of a strong Egyptian as well, as Shikabala’s goal appeared in the final against Al-Ahly, and Mohamed Magdy Afsha’s goal of the tournament against Zamalek.
