A source from the Competitions Committee of the African Football Confederation (CAF) said Hussein Al-Shahat, the Al-Ahly player, participated in the African Super Cup.
Al-Shahat was sent off after the final African Champions League match against Al-Ahly, according to the player’s statements in a post-match television interview.
Although the Al-Ahly club announced the player’s participation in the Super Championship, which will be held this month in the face of the Moroccan Berkane’s rebirth, a state of controversy revolved around the matter.
A source from the “CAF” Competitions Committee said that the participation of the player – who was expelled in the Champions League final – in the Super Cup is legal and there is no crisis in this matter.
Another source from the African Football Confederation, Laila Kora, replied: “The red cards in the Champions League final do not affect the Super match.”
The next few days will witness a meeting of the executive office at CAF to set the date for the African Super Match, to be held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Kaf had signed a contract with the Qatar Football Association to keep a supercar for a period of three copies, two versions were played, Raja won the first and Zamalek won the second before the third was transferred to Cairo.
