The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Army, Major General Muhammad Bagheri, stressed that “a harsh revenge” awaits the perpetrators of the murder of scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh and his followers.

The Iranian Chief of Staff stated that “responsibility for the assassination of scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh rests with terrorists who are linked to global arrogance and the Zionist entity.”

“Tehran will not hesitate to prosecute and punish those responsible for the murder of scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh,” he stressed.

He claimed that “scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was able to increase Iran’s defense capabilities to a good deterrent stage.”

The Iranian Chief of Staff went on to say that the enemy must realize that the path that Fakhrizadeh started will never stop.

He indicated that Fakhrizadeh’s assassination dealt a major blow to the Iranian defense system.

The Iranian Defense Ministry confirmed the murder of the head of the Ministry’s Research and Technology Center, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, in an assassination operation, which it called a “terrorist”.

In a statement, the Defense Ministry stated that “armed terrorist elements attacked a car carrying Mohsen Fakhri Zadeh, head of the Defense Ministry’s Research and Technology Center, on Friday afternoon.”

He noted that “during the confrontation between his security team and the terrorists, Mr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was seriously injured and taken to hospital, and unfortunately the medical team was unable to resuscitate him.”
