The agency in charge of organizing the funeral of the late Argentine legend, Diego Armando Maradona, decided to fire one of its employees, for taking a “selfie” with Maradona’s body lying in the coffin.

The owner of the company who was in charge of organizing Maradona’s funeral confirmed to Argentine media that the aforementioned worker was fired from his job.

The behavior of the funeral receptionist, described by some as shameful and embarrassing, sparked anger in Argentina, with some accusing him of desecrating Maradona’s body.

Maradona’s body was placed in a wooden coffin with the Argentine national flag and the Argentine national team number ten in the Casa Rosada presidential palace in the capital Buenos Aires, where a memorial service to Maradona was held on Thursday, earlier of being transferred to the cemetery of the “Jardin Pia Besta” in the suburbs of the capital, and buried next to the grave of his parents.
