Today Monday, the Court of Urgent Affairs of Cairo has set the session of December 19, as the first session of the trial of the artist Mohamed Ramadan, accused of insulting the Egyptian people.
Tariq Mahmoud, a lawyer, filed the case with “urgent matters”, in the context of the circulation of photographs on the Egyptian artist’s social media sites with an Israeli artist named Omir Arm, in Dubai.
Mahmoud issued a warning in a report to the Theatrical Professions Union, asking it to refer the artist, Mohamed Ramadan, to an immediate investigation and to remove him from the union’s hours.
Ramadan commented on his account in a quick reply after the image was released: “There is no place for me to ask everyone about their identity and nationality,” in an attempt to avoid the storm caused by the image.
