Zamalek youth with cancer: there is a club failure

Saad Mohamed, the young Zamalek suffering from cancer, revealed that there is a failure of his club, which indicates that he is delaying the costs of his treatment.

Saad Muhammad said, in an interview with “Number One” via the “Al-Nahar” channel: “My cancer has destroyed my family’s ambitions to improve their condition in life. I hid it at first, but I told all after losing hope of a cure. “

He added: “I had cancer a year and a half ago, and I am being treated at the state’s expense after four months since I returned from the UAE, and I take medicine from abroad at an exorbitant cost ranging from 25 to 30 thousand pounds per month”.

He continued: “Zamalek asked me for a full report on my condition so that he could be treated in a hospital outside Egypt, but there was no communication and there was a stalemate, before the Corona pandemic arrived and they treated me in Egypt.”

He continued: “Zamalek assigned me a monthly salary of five thousand pounds, but that amount is not enough to cover my medical expenses. I don’t want to be a burden to the club, but this is my right because I am the son of the Zamalek club.”

He continued: “There was a failure of the club, but Ismail Youssef, a member of the board of directors, was the only one who contacted me. He was by my side on a personal level and supported me financially before the support of the club came.”

He explained: “Several Zamalek players have been in contact with me, such as Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala, Islam Jaber, Imam Ashour, Muhammad Hassan and Tariq Hamed, but in the recent period there has been a total abandonment and there is no contact.”

Saad Muhammad, 20, completed his comments by saying: “I hope that Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth Sports, will contact me to intervene in the resolution of a treatment crisis. I was hoping that he would contact me, but that did not happen.”

Notably, Saad Mohamed attended the Egyptian Super Cup in the Emirates last February, and the tournament’s organizing committee was eager to award him the winner’s medal with the Zamalek players and receive the cup with Mahmoud Shikabala, the team leader.
