Major General Mahmoud Shaarawi, Minister of Local Development and Chairman of the Supreme Committee on Public Store Licensing, issued a decision to regulate the opening and closing dates of public restaurants, cafes, workshops, handicrafts and shopping centers, provided that the request is perform as of December 1, 2020.

The Minister of Local Development stressed that the new dates that will be implemented will help the state and the executive and local organizations to achieve street discipline, eliminate randomness and chaos, prevent occupations and traffic congestion in some areas, in addition to preserving the public health of citizens and do not disturb, reduce noise and preserve the public facilities and infrastructure of the state. The hours will be increased on Thursdays and Fridays, and on national holidays and official holidays, to close at midnight (summer) and at eleven at night (winter).
Shaarawi added that, according to the second article, the opening hours of restaurants, cafes and bazaars, including those of shopping centers, are every day from five in the morning and close at one in the morning in summer. midnight in winter, provided that the schedule increases during the winter period on Thursdays and Fridays and on days. Official holidays and state holidays will be closed at one in the morning, with the continuation of take-out service, and 24-hour home delivery service for restaurants and cafes in summer and winter.
The Minister of Local Development stated that according to the third article of the Ministerial Resolution, the opening hours of all workshops and crafts within the residential block will be daily from eight in the morning and will close at seven in the afternoon (summer) and six in the afternoon (winter), except the workshops on the roads, gas stations and also the workshops. The Minister of Local Development said that according to Article Six of the Ministerial Resolution, the summer months will be according to what is established in this decision, starting from the last Friday of April of each year until the end of the last Thursday of September every year.
Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy confirmed that coordination with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities will be coordinated with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities on common issues related to the implementation of the provisions of this decision or any amendment made in this regard.
