Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Health and Population announced that 143 people recovered from the Coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization. This brings the total number of people recovering from the virus to 101,564 cases to date.
Dr Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesperson for the ministry, stated that 342 new cases were recorded that tested positive for virus laboratory tests, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures investigation and examination carried out by the ministry in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, indicating the death of 13 new cases.
Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
Mujahid said that the total number that has been registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of today, Thursday, is 111,955 cases, including 101,564 cured cases and 6,508 deaths.
The Ministry of Health and Population continues to increase its preparations in all the provinces of the Republic, follows first-hand the situation of the “emerging corona” virus and takes all necessary preventive measures against any virus or infectious disease, and the Ministry has assigned a series of media to receive inquiries from citizens on emerging coronavirus and infectious diseases.
