Zayed referred to the situation of occupation of beds in isolation hospitals, explaining that the occupancy rate of beds in the internal section reached 20%, while the occupancy rate of care beds reached 47%, while occupation with respirators reached 20%.
He indicated that the death rate in Egypt for new Corona patients by gender is a ratio of 1: 2 (male – female), which means that the death rate among men is higher than among women, which which is in line with the global rates.
The minister revealed that the Ministry of Health and Population has delivered 500,000 doses of the quadrivalent vaccine against influenza; It involves vaccinating medical teams in health facilities, as well as high-risk groups and travelers.
Zayed spoke about the relationship of climate change with the number of virus infections, which is represented by the fact that the drop in temperatures does not directly affect the increase in cases, but rather leads to the accumulation of citizens in closed places , which translates into a significant increase in cases, highlighting that compliance with precautionary measures is the only thing that can limit the spread of the disease and the increase in infections, which is adopted by most countries.
Regarding the newly developed vaccine against the emerging Covid-19 virus, and whether it is possible for a person who has recovered from Covid to receive this vaccine, the Minister said: If the use of the Corona virus vaccine is approved in large scale, the vaccine may continue to be offered to people. Even if they have had Covid-19 in the past; This is because natural immunity may not last long, and immunization can provide additional protection.
