Met Warns: Strong thunderstorms hit the country Thursday through Saturday

The Meteorological Authority issued a statement on the expected meteorological conditions during the period between tomorrow, Thursday, November 19, and next Saturday, November 21.

The statement said that the country is expected to witness from Thursday to Saturday a state of instability in weather conditions.

The statement speaks of Thursday, indicating moderate to heavy rains, sometimes thunderstorms, in some areas of the northern coasts: (Alexandria – Matrouh – Salloum – Rashid – Damietta – Port Said – Arish – Rafah).

Light to medium rainfall in some areas of Lower Egypt and the southern Red Sea mountain ranges: (Kafr El Sheikh – Beheira – Dakahlia – Al Gharbia – Al Sharqiya – Menoufia – Halayeb – Shalateen – Ras Banas).

On Friday, the statement clarified that sometimes there were electrical storms in some areas of the northern coasts: (Alexandria – Matrouh – Salloum – Rashid – Baltim – Damietta – Port Said – Arish – Rafah).

Medium to heavy rains in some areas of Lower Egypt: (Kafr El Sheikh – Beheira – Dakahlia – Gharbia – Eastern – Menoufia).

Moderate rainfall in some areas of the canal cities and south of the Red Sea mountain ranges: (Halayeb – Shalateen – Ras Banas).

Light rains in the north of Upper Egypt: (Fayoum – Beni Suef – Minya).

This is accompanied by wind activity off the north coast and Lower Egypt, causing dusty winds in the north of Upper Egypt.

And next Saturday, the statement continued, that there are moderate to heavy rains in some areas of the northern coasts: (Alexandria – Matrouh – Salloum – Rashid – Baltim – Damietta – Port Said – Arish – Rafah).

Medium to heavy rains in some areas of Lower Egypt: (Kafr El Sheikh – Beheira – Dakahlia – Gharbia – Eastern – Menoufia).

Light to moderate rainfall in some areas of the canal cities and the southern Red Sea mountain ranges: (Halayeb – Shalateen – Ras Banas).

As for Greater Cairo, it is expected to witness the day after tomorrow, Friday, opportunities for light to moderate rains, accompanied by wind activity.

Average temperatures are expected to range:

Greater Cairo (23-24) and Minor (15-16)

Lower Egypt (22-23) and Minor (15-16)

Great Northern Coasts (21-22) and Lesser (16-17)

South Sinai, Large (26-27) and Minor (19-20)

Northern Upper Egypt, Large (24-25) and Minor (14-15)

Southern Upper Egypt, Large (25-26) and Minor (15-16)
