Tariq Shawky: Corona injuries in schools are between 200 and 300 cases so far

Education Minister Dr. Tariq Shawky said that all possible solutions to the state’s ability to complete the educational process during the crisis of the spread of the new Corona virus have been presented.

“Shawky” added, during statements televised on the satellite channel “MBC Egypt”, that the ministry is implementing precautionary and preventive measures against the Corona virus, which may not have been present in other places frequented by the student.

The Minister of Education added that the ministry has developed several scenarios to serve students in the event of the spread of the Corona virus in schools, explaining that those who make the decision to close schools are the Crisis Committee headed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly , Prime Minister, and after a signal from the political leadership.

He noted that closing schools is a very important decision, adding that the job of the Ministry of Education is to provide educational services only to students.

He stated that closing the classroom does not indicate the existence of a tragedy but a precaution, and said: “The numbers are few and it is possible to close the classroom due to an injury. The figures are between 200 and 300 people, most adults, not children. in 60,000 schools “.

Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, commented on the reported increase in absences in schools during the current academic year due to Corona, explaining that absences are recorded according to the weekly attendance schedules.
