US President-elect Joe Biden has chosen his veteran adviser, Ron Klin, to resume his role as a senior White House official, an attorney who has served for decades as a top-ranking counsel in the seat of government.
Klein will run the White House, and handling the Corona pandemic will likely exhaust him, which continues to spread uncontrollably across the country.
It will also face the challenge of working with a divided Congress, which may include a Republican-led Senate.
Klein served as Biden’s chief of staff during Barack Obama’s first term and held the same position with Vice President Al Gore in the mid-1990s.
The man was a key adviser to Biden’s campaign, directing his preparations for the debates and dealing with the Corona virus, knowing that he had worked with Biden since the 1987 Democratic presidential campaign, according to Sky News Arabia.
Klein’s election confirms the effort the incoming Biden administration will make to deal with the Corona virus from day one, as he has public health experience as a coordinator to deal with the Ebola virus during the 2014 outbreak.
Klein played an important role in the formulation and implementation of the Obama administration’s economic recovery plan in 2009.
“I am honored by the confidence of the president-elect and will do my best to lead a talented and diverse team of White House employees at Biden and (Kamala) Harris (vice president-elect),” Klein wrote on Twitter.
“His deep and varied experience and his ability to work with people from all political spectra is exactly what I need as the White House chief of staff as we face this time of crisis and bring our country together again,” Biden said of the new employee.
Klein’s election is also likely to mitigate some of the concerns among progressives, who have been preparing to argue over one of Biden’s first and most important employees as he forms the White House team.
The main member of the White House staff is usually the president’s watchdog, who formulates political and legislative strategy and often engages with Congress in legislative negotiations.
Progressives had expressed concern that Biden would choose another former senior employee, such as Steve Richetti, who faces doubts about his lobbying job, or Bruce Reed, who is seen as too moderate to accept the reforms that push the party’s base. .
But progressives see that Klein is willing to work with them on top priorities, like climate change and health care.
