Dakahlia security services arrested a deputy candidate in the Sinbillawin district and 9 of his supporters on Wednesday night for holding a rally and blocking the road to protest his loss of the elections and rejecting his appeal against the result.
Major General Raafat Abdul-Baath, Dakahlia’s security director, received a notification from Major General Mustafa Kamal, the directorate’s research director, that dozens of supporters of candidate Abdel Nasser Al-Mutawali had gathered and lost the elections for representatives in Al-Senbelawin district and blocked the road in Zafar village of central Al-Senbilla to protest against tree branches and set rubber branches on fire. His candidate contested the results of the district elections.
Security leaders and officers from the Center’s Investigations Department went to the scene of the incident, and the investigations department confirmed that the candidate had incited his followers to come out to protest, and they all took to the road and burned tree branches and mohawks. , chanting: “With blood and soul we sacrifice you, Nasser.”
The police managed to control the situation in the town and disperse the protesters, and arrested the candidate and 9 of the participants.
A report of the incident was released and it was sent to the Public Ministry for investigation, which accused the candidate of incitement and the rest of the accused for demonstrating and blocking the road.
It is worth mentioning that the Senbellawein constituency competed in which 30 candidates competed, and none of them managed to win the first round, and the highest votes were obtained by: Ahmed Hammam, Wafd Party candidate, 30,227 votes, Osama Abdel Ati, the Republican People’s Party candidate, 38,176 votes, Ahmed Raab, an independent 26,189 votes, and Muhammad Al-Saeed.
