Erdogan calls for reconciliation with all the countries in the region after the US elections: “We have no enmities.”

On Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for opening channels of diplomacy and reconciliation in the region after the US elections, highlighting the desire to move with “all the countries in the region that we consider friends and whose peoples we consider brothers”.

Erdogan said, in a speech during his participation in the meeting of the parliamentary bloc of the Justice and Development Party: “We in Turkey are fully prepared to do whatever falls on our shoulders to establish peace, stability, security and prosperity in the region”.

The Turkish president added: “We, as countries in the region, can take the place we deserve in the new global political and economic order whose formation is accelerated by the Corona pandemic, quickly resolving our disputes and moving together.”

Erdogan stressed “the need to open the channels of diplomacy and reconciliation to remove the ambiguity that appeared in the region after the US elections,” according to the Turkish presidential website.

Erdogan said: “Based on this understanding, we will continue to strengthen our presence in the field and greatly activate diplomatic channels. In the next stage, we want to move with all the countries of the region that we consider friends and whose peoples we consider brothers ”.

He added: “We have no hidden or expressed prejudices, enmities and vague calculations against anyone.” With all sincerity and affection, we invite everyone to work together to build a new stage within the framework of stability, security, justice, love and respect.
