Walid Al-Attar, executive director of the Egyptian Football Association, said the federation approached security authorities to prepare for the masses to attend the final of the CAF Champions League.
Al-Ahly will face Zamalek on the 27th of this month in the final of the African Champions League at the Cairo International Stadium, after the sons of coach Mosimani decided to qualify at the expense of Wydad, while the teammates of Tariq Hamed qualified at the expense of the Moroccan Raja.
Al-Attar said, through private statements in Laila Koura on Wednesday: “Minister Ashraf Sobhi informed us that the final of the Champions League will be held at the Cairo Stadium, and informed us to move and board security to prepare for the attendance of the masses if CAF requests a public presence for the final.
A source from the African Football Confederation had said in remarks in Leela Koura in recent days that quite a few would like fans to attend the Champions League final and that there are ongoing meetings about it. (See from here)
The Champions League final was scheduled for the 6th of this month, before it was postponed to the 27th at the Burj Al Arab stadium before returning to the Cairo stadium again.
