The Muslim Brotherhood responded to the statement by the Saudi Council of Senior Investigators, in which it considered the group a “terrorist organization.”

The Saudi Authority did not explain the reason for issuing this statement.
For his part, a Brotherhood spokesman, Talaat Fahmy, said Tuesday night that his group is a “reformist activist” and “not a terrorist.”
He added to Anadolu Agency that the Brotherhood, which was founded in Egypt in 1928, is “far from violence, terrorism and the separation of the nation, and since its inception it has been a reformist advocacy group calling upon God with wisdom and good advice without excesses or negligence “.
He added that the group “denies all the accusations that the Council of Senior Investigators presented against it.”
He stressed that “the group’s approach is based on the Book of God and the authentic Sunnah without exaggeration or extremism, and its history attests to this.”
He added: “The group is completely far from violence and terrorism, and has always been a victim of violence and terror from dictatorial regimes.”
He stressed that “the group remained biased towards true Islamic belief and the righteous causes of the Ummah, the first of which is the Palestinian problem.”
Fahmy relied on the sayings of prominent Saudi scholars, including: Abdulaziz bin Baz, Bin Jibreen and Safar Al-Hawali, and the Fatwa (official) Standing Committee, to the right of the group.
He added: “They said that the Brotherhood is one of the groups closest to the truth, and among the Sunnis, the community, the surviving groups and a moderate group that wants to reform and call on God.”
He called on everyone to work together to unite the nation to uplift their religion, uphold the Sunnah of their Prophet and face the dangers and plans that lie in wait for the ummah.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Abd al-Latif Al-Sheikh, said in a tweet via his verified Twitter account, that the commission’s statement was “satisfactory and adequate, and no one after her is excused for ignorance “.
In March 2014, the Saudi Interior Ministry announced that the Brotherhood had been included in the list of “terrorist organizations”.
There is no declared organization of the group in the Kingdom, which in previous periods hosted prominent leaders of the Brotherhood.
The kingdom’s decision came in support of the regime’s position in Egypt, which declared the Brotherhood a “banned and terrorist group” in December 2013, months after the overthrow of the late President Mohamed Morsi, who was affiliated with the Brotherhood. .
Morsi was Egypt’s first elected president after a popular revolution in 2011 that toppled then-President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak.
