Press reports revealed the absence of Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold after he was injured in Sunday’s Premier League game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The “Daily Mail” newspaper said Liverpool could lose Alexander-Arnold’s services for four weeks due to a calf injury to City’s face, which he was unable to complete as he left the stadium in the second half.

The newspaper added that the 22-year-old will miss England’s European League of Nations matches this month, as well as Liverpool’s fixtures against Leicester City, Brighton and Wolverhampton in the Premier League.

Trent will also miss Liverpool’s Champions League games against Atalanta and Ajax, both at Anfield.

Liverpool faces a defensive crisis in the absence of the Dutchman Virgil Van Dyck and the Brazilian Fabinho, who was counted as central, but the Reds recovered the services of Cameroonian Joel Matip after recovering from an injury.
