Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes the 1-1 draw with Liverpool is a fair result.
Liverpool left the top of the English Premier League after drawing with Manchester City in the summit match that brought them together on the eighth day of the competition.
Guardiola said in comments, especially on his club’s website: “It was a difficult game, they started very well.”
“It is not easy because they are very fast and they played against us with four players in front.”
“After the penalty, we played better and drew. It was a close match, and there are not many opportunities for both sides,” he continued.
“We took a penalty again, and we hope to learn from that,” added the Spanish coach.
“I am very happy because I see the work of the players every day,” he stressed. “I hope they can now enjoy their teams in the international break and return safely without injuries.”
“We played 12 games and lost only one in all competitions,” he added. “Unfortunately we drew a lot, but the draw with Liverpool was a fair result.”
Liverpool returned from Etihad Stadium, Manchester City’s stronghold, with a draw that took them to 17 points, leaving the league holder in third place in the table, leaving the lead for Leicester City, which has 18 points.
And to a point of Tottenham, which is in second place.
Manchester City also moved up to 12th point at eleventh in the table, and they still have a game ahead of them.
Egyptian star Mohamed Salah scored the goal for his team, Liverpool, in the match, while City’s goal came through Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus.
