Lieutenant General Kamel Al Wazir, Minister of Transport, left the Misr station after a meeting and a quick tour with the head of the railway authority and some drivers.

The minister held an urgent meeting with the president of the Railway Authority at his headquarters in Ramsés, in the presence of the long-distance deputy and 10 drivers.

In the closed-door meeting, which was limited to a limited number, the minister stressed the importance of urgently ending the crisis of the drivers today, in order to guarantee the regularity of appointments.

The minister went to berth 4 designated for Lower Egypt, and passengers gathered around him to demand a solution to the problem of train delays, promising to quickly end the crisis and keep regular appointments.

The minister reacted to one of the passengers after being asked about the train delays, saying: “I have come to see the problem.” The minister stressed that everyone must resolve the problem quickly.

Informed sources revealed that Eng. Sami Abdel-Tawab, Vice President of the Authority, came to the meeting with 10 drivers representing drivers nationwide and listened to their demands.

The meeting emphasized avoiding failures of safety devices and the delays that follow, and reassuring drivers when these failures, in an indirect reference to the authority’s request to close the safety device, with its legal protection in case of accidents.

The sources added that the authority began operating a tractor 4 days ago to test and identify the dirt files, and work to repair and maintain them.
