A meteorologist, Gamal Sayed, said the date of the match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the final of the CAF Champions League coincides with the “notch of the broom” and the weather is expected to be unstable at that time in Alexandria.

The African Confederation of Football (CAF) previously decided to hold the final of the CAF Champions League on November 27 at the Army Stadium in Borg El Arab, Alexandria.

Al-Ahly qualified for the final after beating Moroccan Wydad in the semi-finals of the Champions League to face hopeless Zamalek in the “end of the century”.

The weather expert told “On Time Sports 1”: “The match matches the broom. If this is shown on the aerial maps 4 days before the match, in terms of rain and wind speed, then it will have an impact. at the match”.

“It is preferable to transfer the Burj Al Arab match to any stadium in Cairo,” he added.

The match lasted for 19 days, so it is difficult to anticipate anything related to the weather conditions, at least those matters appear on the maps 4 days before the match.

He stressed that “it is not possible to make any decisions or indicate any weather forecast on match day, except after following the maps for the 4 days prior to the match.”

“It is also possible, a week before the game, to monitor the expected temperatures, the expected amount of rain and the wind speed,” he added.

He highlighted: “There is a previous match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek. We waited days before the match through maps about the intensity of the rain, and the forecast was correct.”

He continued: “It is possible that the weather will be uncomfortable because the match will coincide with the core of the broom and the match will not look good, and it is preferable to move the match to Cairo.”

He concluded his remarks by saying: “God willing, during the official period to confirm the stadium for the final match, a final vision of the weather conditions will be developed.”
