The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced that no matches will be postponed for the 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, which will be played in Cameroon.
And through the official “CAF” website, the CAF confirmed that there is no possibility of canceling or postponing any match in the qualifying rounds of the African Cup of Nations due to Corona.
The “CAF” confirmed that the team that fails to bring together 11 key players, including a goalkeeper and 4 substitutes, will be considered the loser with two clean goals against their opponent, and their matches will not be postponed.
“CAF” also indicated that any team that cannot travel to face its opponent for any reason regarding the restrictions imposed by the countries to face the Corona pandemic will also be considered a 2-0 loser.
The Confederation of African Nations allows each team to make 5 changes during match events for only 3 interruptions during the match, and this is the same system used in club matches at African championships.
The “CAF” refuses to hold matches in public according to the protocol approved by it, but has opened the door to public attendance if the governments of the host countries so wish, subject to the approval of the African Football Confederation.
In the end, “KAF” gave a ray of hope to the national teams that would complicate their position, indicating that in exceptional cases, the organizing committee would make its decision.
