Al-Wefaq Interior Minister Continues Cairo Talks Amid Turkish Anger

The Interior Minister of the Libyan Government of National Accord, Fathi Bashagha, begins this Thursday the second day of negotiations in Cairo, discussing the file of terrorist organizations and the need to develop a strategy to confront and confront these organizations, in the middle of anger and Turkish reserves.

The Interior Minister’s consultations in Cairo include a plan to restructure the Libyan Interior Ministry and discuss an integrated strategy to combat terrorism, especially everything related to ISIS and Al Qaeda.

For its part, Cairo insists on the need to preserve the Libyan military establishment, and not damage it, and informed Al-Wefaq’s Interior Minister. The latter asked for a truce with Cairo.

It was also agreed to facilitate the tasks of Egyptian workers in Libya and not to be subjected to any harassment or arrest.

The understandings concerned the release of Egyptians arrested in Al-Wefaq prisons, and the Interior Minister promised to implement them and not subject Egyptians to harassment in the GNA areas.

The Libyan minister also discussed arrangements to visit other officials from the National Accord Government to Cairo, as well as the organization of meetings with officials from the Libyan Parliament and the Libyan National Army.
