Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, decided to cancel the annual increase in expenses for private schools for the current 2020/2021 academic year due to the conditions the country is going through as a result of the spread of the new Coronavirus.

The Central Committee for Private Education of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education decided to stop adding a percentage to the increase in educational and activity expenses in private schools (Arabic – languages ​​- international) for the academic year 2020/2021, based on a memorandum presented to the Office of the Minister of Education, given what the country is going through. Currently, the coronavirus pandemic, which has negatively affected the country’s economy in all its fields, has even lost many parents in their jobs or sources of income, especially those who work in the private sector and are parents.

The memorandum submitted to the Office of the Minister of Education confirmed that any increase in education and activity expenses in private schools in these circumstances would represent a great additional burden on parents.

The memorandum submitted to the Ministry of Education’s office had proposed either to reduce expenses for the 2020/2021 academic year, or to continue to collect education and activity expenses in private schools until the final 2019/2020 academic year during the school year. in progress.

The instructions of Dr. Tariq Shawky stipulated that: The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has the interest of fulfilling its duty to organize the contractual relationship between parents of students and owners of private and international schools, within the framework of the laws and regulations governing this subject and taking into account that students obtain their inherent constitutional right to education. Therefore, all parts of the educational process must adhere to the following:

The deadline for paying the overdue amounts of tuition fees owed to schools for the final academic year 2019/2020 is extended to a date no later than 11/15/2020, and in case of non-payment in this date, the student’s name is removed from school records and the procedures for transferring and enrolling the student in a public school are taken with the commitment of the guardian. Pay the sums owed in favor of the school in which he was enrolled.

The term for the payment of the first installment owed to private and international schools for the benefit of the parents of the students for the amounts owed by them for the current academic year 2020/2021 is extended to a date no later than 11/30/2020 , and in case of non-compliance with the payment of the fee, the tutor will be notified after fifteen days from the date. The foregoing, and in case of non-payment, they are warned again after another fifteen days, and in case of non-payment, students are transferred and enrolled in a public school in order to preserve their right to education, with the commitment of the tutor to pay all sums owed on behalf of the school to which he was enrolled.

In case of not paying the rest of the expenses of the current academic year – the second semester – the result is retained, the procedures are taken to transfer the student and enroll him in a public school with the commitment of the tutor to pay the sums owed by he for the benefit of the school in which he was enrolled, and the commitment of all schools not to be exposed, either (real or verbal) towards the student, taking into account the implementation of all the above without harming the psychological state and students’ morals, taking into account the need for them to enjoy all the legal rights associated with their right to education, and to all workers in the departments and directorates of education and those interested in the implementation of the above, and adhere to the speed of initiative to implement what is mentioned in the previous paragraphs, and In case of lax or late implementation, all legal liability measures are taken in its c ontra.
