A source close to Shady Radwan, the Al-Ahly player, confirmed that the sentence handed down against him today, Tuesday, was in absentia due to the player’s ignorance of the existence of sessions.

The source, who declined to be identified, in private statements on Laila Kora, indicated that the player would object to the referee within two weeks of its broadcast.

The Nasr City Court had handed down a verdict against Shady Radwan, the Al-Ahly player, in absentia, to one year in prison on just £ 1,000 bail, for accidental murder in a car.

He continued: “Shadi Radwan tried to solve the crisis because he did not intend to kill this woman, but his family insisted on getting the money, so that in the end the matters go to court.”

* The issuance of a sentence for the player to be sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of 1000 pounds, which came as a result of the family of the deceased woman who brought the case, and Ali Shady Radwan was sentenced in absentia without attending any session or know it from scratch.

He added: “As long as there is no intentional homicide, it is normal for the court ruling to be one year with a fine, but opposition will be presented within two weeks after its issuance and it can be canceled from scratch.”

He concluded: “The player contacted Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly football director, until the club’s legal affairs are assigned to follow up on the case and try to save the player from jail.”
