President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Engineer Tariq Al-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, on Tuesday.

The president was informed about the axes of the national project for the use of vehicles for natural gas in order to ensure sustainable energy sources and achieve an optimal economic benefit from the wealth of natural gas in Egypt, maximizing its added value, as well as rationalizing gasoline consumption and contributing effectively to preserving the environment and reducing air pollution through the use of natural gas. As a clean fuel that reduces harmful emissions.

The President ordered that the incentives to convert cars to run on natural gas energy be intensified, in addition to simplifying them, granting payment facilities and ensuring the merit of the technical procedures used in the conversion operations.

The President also ordered to study the implementation of programs to replace old cars with new ones powered by gas, with the aim of expanding the process of conversion to energy to gas, achieve tangible economic savings for citizens, and also provide them with the opportunity to own modern cars.

In the same context, the President directed the acceleration of executive procedures related to the establishment of new stations for the supply of vehicles that operate with natural gas at the level of various provinces in accordance with the latest international technology, as well as the exploitation of the infrastructure represented in current fuel stations, while ensuring the highest levels of safety.

The spokesperson added that Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla also reviewed the efforts of the Oil Ministry in the development of the national petrochemical industry with added value, to satisfy the needs of the local market, support various industrial sectors and export the surplus, as well such as the strategic importance of petrochemicals to keep pace with the state’s plans and meet its development goals by providing new investment opportunities. Local and foreign, and maximizing the exploitation of investment opportunities based on these products.
