Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp feels his forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have a lot of advantage in the West Ham United game, despite neither of them scoring the winning goal.

Liverpool overcame their deficit against West Ham with a two-goal win at Anfield, and Salah was the Reds’ first goal.

“I did not ask them to do something different, it was all because of our desire to continue doing the same things, but with different players,” Klopp said about what he had asked Gerdan Shaqiri and Diogo Jota before entering the bench.

“We wanted to activate the attack and push Shakiri to the 10th position, which changed the way we play a bit,” added the German, in featured comments on his club’s website.

He continued: “The problems with the playing methods are usually in the defense and not in the attack, and we had control of the course of the game from the beginning, so there was no problem at the offensive level.”

“Salah and Mane have made a lot of important plays. Any defense will have a hard time dealing with a new player coming off the bench, so we put Sadio on the right side and Diogo on the left forward,” he emphasized.

After Salah drew against the Reds at the end of the first half, Jota added the second goal in the 84th minute. A great match for Shaqiri against the Portuguese, who scored marvelously.

The victory raised Liverpool’s balance to 16th point at the top of the Premier League rankings, while West Ham’s balance froze at eighth point at 15th place.

Mohamed Salah’s seventh goal in the league this season was the second scorer behind Son Heung-min, and the eighth overall.

The goal is his 102nd with the Liverpool jersey in various tournaments since joining the team.
