Al-Ahly makes history again by defeating Tala’a Al-Jaish

Al-Ahly defeated their host Talaia El-Geish 3-0 in the match played on Saturday in the 34th and last day of the Egyptian We League at Al-Ahly We and Al-Salam Stadium, to add the most points in the history of the competition.

Al-Ahly raised his score to 89 points at the top of the leaderboard, surpassing the number he achieved in the 2017-2018 season when he racked up 88 points, and Al-Jaish stopped at 41st point at 11th place in the leaderboard.

Match events

Walid Suleiman advanced to Al-Ahly in just 45 seconds, where he got a wonderful home from Kahraba, and hit it from the goalkeeper, to put it back into the empty goal and into the net.

Talaia Al-Jaysh was close to the equalizer in the fourth minute of the game, had it not been for the presence of Arabi Badr at the goal line, who took a header before entering the net, but the assistant referee at the end raised his flag, considering an infiltration at the beginning of the attack.

Giraldo doubled the score in the 18th minute of the game, after receiving a wonderful pass from Badji and putting it in Mohamed Bassam’s face to swing it towards the net with his right foot beautifully.

Kahraba scored the third goal for Al-Ahly in the 37th minute of the game, after receiving a pass from Mohamed Fakhry, and celebrated by removing his shirt to show the image of Moamen Zakaria, the former player of the team.

Ali Lotfi faced a dangerous opportunity from Amr Gamal after the ball hit his chest in the 39th minute.

Amr Gamal knew his way to Al-Ahly’s goal after 45 minutes, but offside, as the assistant referee raised his flag, which was a wise decision.

In the final moments of lost time, Kahraba delivered a wonderful pass to Badji inside the penalty area, to hit a powerful ball into the near corner, but Mohamed Bassam was on the promise and blocked it.

The second half saw attempts by both teams, and Al-Jaysh was the closest to Al-Ahly’s goal on more than one occasion.

Ahmed Al-Sheikh and Saleh Jumaa participated in the match in the 67th minute, replacing Geraldo and Aliou Badji.

After Saleh Jumaa’s participation, his first appearance on goal came in the 69th minute, with a direct shot on target that came well over the crossbar.

Shady Radwan participated in the 80th minute in place of Walid Suleiman, and in the final minutes Yasser Ibrahim participated on behalf of Ahmed Fathy, who received a special greeting from all the Al-Ahly members in his last appearance with Al-Ahly.

Al-Ahly concluded the match and managed to win 3-0 in the last match of the league.
