Social media pioneers circulated video clips documenting the moment when a car stormed the squares of the Great Mosque of Mecca and collided with one of the doors.
Local daily Al-Wiam quoted sources as saying that no one was injured, while security authorities have made reservations about the driver, who, primary sources, indicate that he suffers from mental disorders.
One of the circulating videos showed security men pulling the car that crashed into the doors of the Great Mosque of Mecca from the squares.
The Mecca region Emirate Al-Mukarramah said in a statement published by the Saudi News Agency “SPA”: “The security authorities initiated an accident that hit a car in one of the doors of the Great Mosque as a result from his drift while traveling at high speed on one of the roads surrounding the South Plaza of the Great Mosque, and thank God no one was injured. “
