Unprecedented historic achievements in the Egyptian Premier League championship inspire Al-Ahly in the final round of the ongoing edition of the 2019/2020 championship when he arrives as a guest at Talaea El-Geish on Saturday.
Al-Ahly face their host Tala’a Al-Jaish at the “Al-Ahly We Peace” stadium at eight o’clock in the evening, in the last matches of the current season of the Egyptian League and the 34th match of the 61st edition of the competition.
The Al-Jaysh club agreed to transfer its match against Al-Ahly to be played at the Al-Salam Stadium to participate in the celebration organized by the Red Club’s sponsor company on the occasion of its crowning of the league title for the 42nd time in its history .
Al-Ahly awaits in the crowning match and receiving the league shield to conclude his tournament with a victory over Al-Tale’i, in order to achieve an unprecedented record by winning the league with the most points with 89 points.
The league champion scored 86 points from the 33 games he played in the league, after winning 27 games, drawing five times, and defeating his rival Zamalek, who won the competition with 68 points.
And in the event that they beat Al-Talaa, Al-Ahly will conclude their career in the League and their balance (89 points), to surpass the previous record by one point from the previous record that they set when crowning the title in the season 2017/2018 with a score of (88 points).
Al-Ahly’s victory over Al-Jaish will equal the record for the most wins in a season for the Egyptian Premier League, which is owned by Red Genie himself after he achieved (28 wins) in the 2017/2018 season.
Al-Ahly, who has scored 71 league goals so far, has a chance to chase another record in terms of number of goals, but it seems difficult as Al-Ahmar needs five goals against Al-Talaa ‘to achieve an achievement without precedents.
Al-Ahly holds the record for the most goals scored in an Egyptian Premier League season, after he scored (75 goals) in the same historic 2017/2018 season, when Hossam El-Badry was coach of the Red Team.
In another context, Al-Ahly came away with a clean sheet in 27 games this season in the 33 games they played, after conceding just eight goals in five games, knowing that he did not compete in the first round match because he did not attend Zamalek.
In the event that Al-Ahly eliminate the “clean sheet” against Al-Jaysh, the Red Genie will reach 28 games to zero, to be unique in the record currently shared with Ismaili in the 1990/1991 season ( 27 clean sheets in 35 games).
