The African Football Confederation (CAF) revealed that its president, Ahmed Ahmed, arrived in Cairo on Wednesday and will discuss Egypt’s request to postpone the African Champions League, explaining that the issue of transferring the match to another country is not on table.
A source within the African Union said in his remarks to “Yallakora” on Wednesday that Ahmed Ahmed would discuss the Egyptian authorities’ request with the competent authorities within the African Union, together with the Union’s secretary general, Abdel Moneim Bah.
Egyptian authorities asked the African Union to postpone the second leg of the African Champions League semi-finals and the final to a later date. (See details)
The same source explained that the issue of the transfer of the Champions League final from Egypt is not among the elements of the discussion table, highlighting that the first option at this time is to reach a solution that suits all matches without modifications in the host country of the final.
Yallakora also learned that the African Union will not be able to accept the date proposed by Egypt for the celebration of the Champions League final on November 10, as it conflicts with the international agenda. (See details)
Zamalek plays against Raja, the second leg of the semifinals, after winning off the field with a clean goal, and is determined based on that confrontation, the second game of the final with Al-Ahly, who overtook Wydad Casablanca.
