Books – Ahmad Jumaa:
Sources familiar with the Health Ministry revealed that “major changes” have been made to the protocol for treating people with the emerging corona virus “Covid 19” in Egypt. As part of the measures taken by the Ministry in preparation for the second wave of the virus.

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Ministry of Health registered 170 positive cases and 11 deaths, bringing the total number that was registered in Egypt to 106,877 cases, including 99084 cured cases and 6222 deaths.

One of the sources Masrawy spoke to said Wednesday: “There are significant changes in the treatment protocol, new types of drugs have been added and the timing of their administration to the injured has been changed.”

He added: “We are facing a viral disease that modifies its characteristics continuously, and has a specific schedule to face it, so we mark time points to be one step ahead before the critical stage occurs and the patient reaches the situation on a fan. “

The sources pointed to the continuation of the treatment with “Remdesivir” after it had proven its effectiveness in treating the injured in recent months.

This comes days after the US Food and Drug Administration gave full approval for the use of the antiviral remdesivir to treat people with Covid 19 disease in hospitals.

Remdesivir is the first drug to receive a license to treat Covid 19 from the US agency.

And remdesivir is one of the first drugs to be shown relative effectiveness during rigorous trials in reducing the number of days required for Corona patients to recover in hospitals.

But the World Health Organization said last week that remdesivir had little to no effect on treating patients.

Regarding the date to release the details of the treatment protocol, a source from the Ministry of Health said: “We are finalizing the treatment protocol and it will be released within a maximum period of one week.”

Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, highlighted the need to adhere to preventive and precautionary measures and follow social distancing measures in anticipation of an increase in the number of Corona injuries with the onset of winter and casualties temperatures.
