Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp described the Danish Champions League showdown with Maitieland as a couple.
Liverpool excelled thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah (see details)
The German said on the English BT Sport network after the end of the match: “It was a difficult night, it seems like a marriage, going through good and bad times, not a bad time but a difficult time.”
“We have to be together 100% and fight hard, which is what the players did today,” he added.
“Fabinho lost in the first half. Williams is only 19 years old and I think he played more Champions League games than Premier League games, and this is rare.”
He explained: “This is exactly the last thing we want. I know he has pain in his hamstrings and this doesn’t look good. He said he can play without running fast, which didn’t help. We’ll see after doing other checks.”
“We played well, but it is a shock for the team because now we have to fix this injury.
He continued: “We had to make a switch between the two halves with Henderson’s departure. He said I’m fine, but I have to be responsible and give him a 45-minute break so he’s ready for West Ham.”
“It was a tough match, but the 2-0 win is completely good. That’s it. Let’s keep going.”
