The Ministry of Electricity announced that it had received around 815 thousand requests to transfer from the accounting of electricity consumption by the practice system to coded meters for various real estate units, amounting to approximately 2 million units, and the requests included the nine electricity distribution companies.
Ayman Hamzah, a spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, said that whoever wants to install the code meter can log into the platform, then register their data, and then choose the type and number of housing units, enter the card image and add a copy of the electrical practice record for each unit, and after accepting the application An application number will be issued and the applicant will be contacted within a few days; To install the meter code for it.
Hamza explained, in statements he made to “Masrawy”, that the code meter is a prepaid meter, like other prepaid meters; But it bears a number and not the name of the owner of the residential unit, and that the consumption accounting system is the same as the accounting system for the rest of the meters according to the electricity rate that has been applied since the beginning of this month of July, which confirms that the code meter installation does not reconcile the situation violating the housing unit, but is installed to determine the consumption value of residential units. The violation and collection of the right of the state of the electric current that you consume, and the code meter becomes a legal meter in case of reconciliation with the state and the legal status of the infringing property is reconciled, or the property is removed , and in this case the presence of the code does not prevent the removal of the infringing property.
