Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek club, believes that his team has achieved the desired goal of taking second place in the Egyptian League and securing participation in the African Champions League next season.
Mortada Mansour said on Zamalek TV: “The Football Association deducted 3 points from our team’s balance due to our desire not to play the Al-Ahly match.”
He added: “In the end, they deducted points from us and we did not play the game as we wanted. We also got second place and qualified to participate in the Champions League, contrary to the wish of Amr El Ganaini, president of the Football Association.”
He continued: “I congratulate the Zamalek fans on defeating Ismaily and securing second place and participating in the African Championship next season.”
“Zamalek, for 10 years with Mamdouh Abbas, he only won one championship thanks to Amr Zaki and Osama Hassan, and he is the duo who joined the ranks of Zamalek because of me.”
Facing Raja in the second leg of the African semi-finals, he said: “It is difficult to cure an entire team from the Corona virus at the same time that Raja says he is expecting the recovery of more than 10 players in the next few hours.”
He continued: “This will definitely affect the level of the Moroccan team in the second leg.”
He concluded his remarks about Aswan Club by saying: “It is not correct for Aswan Club to designate Sami El Shishini and Amir Abdel Aziz to coach the team without getting permission from Zamalek, because this duo works at the White Castle.”
Zamalek will play Moroccan Raja in the second leg of the semi-final of the African Champions League on November 1, after winning the first leg without an answer in Morocco.
