“Health”: 143 new cases of coronavirus … and 12 deaths

The Ministry of Health and Population announced that 90 recoveries from the coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, raising the total of those who recover from the virus to 98,903 cases to date.

Dr Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesman for the ministry, stated that 143 new cases were recorded that tested positive for virus laboratory tests, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures, investigation and examination carried out by the ministry in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, pointing to the death of 12 new cases.

Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.

“Mujahid” affirmed that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until today Sunday is 106,540 cases, including 98,903 cured cases and 6,199 deaths.

The Ministry of Health and Population continues to increase its preparations in all the governorates of the Republic, follows first-hand the situation of the “emerging corona” virus and takes all necessary preventive measures against any virus or infectious disease, and the ministry has also assigned a number of media outlets to receive inquiries from citizens on the emerging coronavirus and infectious diseases. These include the hotline “105”, “15335” and the WhatsApp number “01553105105”, in addition to the “Egypt Health” application available on phones.
