Books – Ahmed Abdel Basset:

The Egyptian Football Association and the Competitions Committee are studying possible scenarios for a match between Zamalek and Ismaily in the league, if the African Football Confederation “K” decides to postpone the match between Zamalek and the Moroccan Raja.

The CAF will announce its final decision on the date of the Zamalek match and the second leg of the African Champions League semifinals in the next few hours.

Raja’s team requested that the match be postponed due to the infection of several of its players with the Corona virus, and the Moroccan Ministry of Health demanded that the team go into full quarantine for a week and prevent it from traveling to Egypt.

“There are intense contacts with the leaders of the CAF to coordinate with them the organization of the last day of the league competition,” said an official source from the Football Association.

The Football Association previously announced that October 29, 30 and 31 will be determined for the last round matches, which is witnessing a fight between Zamalek and Pyramids for second place.

The source noted: “We learned that there is a tendency for the CAF to postpone the Zamalek match and that it will take place on October 31 or November 1.”

He continued: “In that case, we can announce the selection of October 25 for the Zamalek and Ismaili match in the final round of the league.”

He explained: “Of course, we are thinking about the issue of equal opportunities between Zamalek and Pyramids, but also if we postpone the matches between Zamalek and Ismaily as well as Pyramids and Al-Mokawloon because of Raja’s match, then this means that the end of the season will be after the November international suspension. “

The period from 9 to 17 November is set to witness an international suspension, and the Egyptian team will compete for both matches in Togo in the African qualifiers for the African Nations 2022 in Cameroon.

He concluded: “We are awaiting the final decision of the CAF to determine our position based on the new date for the Zamalek party, and please, if it is officially postponed.”
