Oron cited the Israeli embassy tweet on Monday in which he remembered the Egyptian artist, saying: “Today is the 110th anniversary of the birth of the great Egyptian artist, Farid Al-Atrash.”
She added: Farid Al-Atrash was one of the most influential singers in Arabic classical music, and for many generations in Israel, I was raised with his famous songs like ‘Because there is no one but you’ and ‘Live You’, and even today her beautiful voice echoes through the streets of Israel.
