Tweeters on social media platforms criticized Adeeb’s sarcastic comment, calling it a falsehood and a lie to academics.

The statement by the International Union of Muslim Scholars stated that the fabricated fatwa attributed to the Union, which Adeeb claimed was posted on its official website on October 17, is “a lie, a falsehood, a falsehood and a fabrication.”

He added: “There is no article, tweet or fatwa issued by His Eminence, President of the Federation with this address, and we wonder, surprisingly: Has the level of lies, fabrication and falsification reached this point?

The union asked: “Are these lies intended to distort the image of divine scholars and the International Union of Muslim Scholars, which from the first moment was on the side of the oppressed and defeated peoples against their military coups?”

Saudi activists and officials had launched a campaign to boycott Turkey and its products, and quickly faced a counter-campaign of support on other Arab platforms, to headline the hashtag “Popular Campaign to Boycott Turkey” and the “Popular Campaign to Support to Turkey “, the most widespread in several Arab countries.

The Saudis interacted with what they saw as a “victory for the homeland” against what they described as the “attempts of the Turkish regime” to harm their countries. And via Twitter, Arab activists also launched a counter-campaign in support of Turkey, amid the widespread posting of photos of Turkish products on the platform. Supporters of this approach denounced what they called “the war against a Muslim country defending the nation’s problems,” viewing the boycott campaign as a mere failed attempt by parties that aspire to overthrow and weaken the Turkish regime.
