Three Zamalek players are threatened with being excluded from the final of the CAF Champions League if they get yellow cards in the second leg against Raja Casablanca next Saturday.
Zamalek defeated Raja in the first leg in Durr Al-Baida yesterday with an unanswered goal from an elaborate header from Moroccan star Ashraf Bin Sharqi, and the return leg will be played at the Cairo Stadium next Saturday.
In the match, both Mohammed Abu Jabal, goalkeeper and Mustafa Muhammad, team forward, received yellow cards, increasing the number of their cards to two for each player.
The two players had received a warning during Zamalek’s previous match with Esperance Tunisia, in the second leg of the tournament quarter-finals.
While Tariq Hamed has two yellow cards, he got them with one card in all Zamalek’s matches against Esperance in the quarter-finals, so he is also threatened with missing the final if he gets a yellow card in next Saturday’s match.
The Zamalek mission returned shortly before from Morocco on a private flight.
While the Tunisian international Ferjani Sassi was late in Morocco until the result of the second medical examination he carried out, since the rules for traveling to Egypt require that the result of Corona’s analysis be presented before entering the country.
Sassi was confirmed to be infected with the Coronavirus, as he was absent from the first leg and is isolated in a private room at the hotel residence in Casablanca.
Zamalek will start their training tomorrow, in preparation to face Raja in the second leg.
