Zamalek players celebrate Ashraf Bashrki’s goal in Raja

Moroccan Ashraf Bencharki, the Zamalek star, spoke about his goal against Moroccan Raja Casablanca, referring to “we trained for that shot.”

Zamalek stung Raja and won 1-0 in Morocco in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semifinals. (See details)

Zamalek’s goal came through the brilliant Ashraf Bencharki header after a wonderful cross from Ahmed Sayed “Zizou”.

Bencharki said: “The shooting of the target is instructions from the coach and an understanding between my colleague and me.”

“I spoke with Zizou before the game and during training sessions about the goal shot, and thank God I managed to score,” he said in his remarks via BN Sports after the game.

He added: “I dedicate the goal to the Zamalek fans. The Zamalek players are men and deserve to be congratulated, along with the coaching staff, the doctor and the entire group.”

“We are a team and a group, and our goal is to defeat our rival,” he stressed.

“We had a good run, and now we have the second half in Egypt. The result is 1-0, a positive result, but things are not over.”

“We are determined to reach the final in Africa.”

Zamalek’s winning goal came through as wonderful as ever, Ashraf Bencharki, in the 18th minute, with an elaborate header off a cross and no more wonderful than Zizou.

On Saturday, Morocco was colored in the colors of Al-Ahly, who defeated Wydad with a double, and on Sunday, they were colored in the colors of Zamalek, who beat Raja with a goal for nothing.

Zamalek is preparing to host Raja next Saturday in the second leg.
