Books – Muhammad Nassar:

Councilor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, a member of the Senate, officially won the presidency of the Council during today’s inaugural session.

Counselor Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razek rose to the podium of the Presidency of the Senate, after winning the position of President after obtaining 287 votes from the 299 attendees, 12 of which were null.

Abdel-Razek won an absolute majority after he ran on his own and oversaw the election committee for the position of council chairman, a committee headed by Sameh Ashour, the appointed council member and former attorney.

This came after the elections held today at the inaugural session of the Council, headed by Major General Jalal Haridi.

The statutes of the House of Representatives in force in the Senate regulated the procedures for the election of the Speaker and the two representatives.

Article 11 of the regulations establishes that the council office will be composed of the president of the council and the two agents.

This morning the inaugural session of the Senate began, according to the President’s decision to convene the Senate on October 18.

Notably, Counselor Abdel-Razek served as a former President of the Supreme Constitutional Court and spent a lot of time in the judiciary of all kinds.
