Books – Omar Qura:

South African coach Pitso Musimane, coach of Al-Ahly, expressed his joy at the victory he achieved against Moroccan Wydad with a clean double in the African Champions League, indicating that a greater victory was possible.

And Al-Ahly took the lead in the last game of the African Champions League after achieving a valuable victory off the field with the pair of Mohamed Magdi Afsha and Ali Maaloul.

“It was a difficult match because Wydad was playing with a competitive spirit and was trying to overcome the result,” Mosimane said in remarks at the post-match press conference.

He added: “We had the opportunity to score a goal early and we took the opportunity that resulted from the mistake thanks to the pressure we were exerting in the game.”

He continued: “Our goalkeeper, Muhammad Al-Shennawi, was brilliant, he responded to a penalty and gave us more confidence. We took the second chance and scored the second goal of the match.”

He continued: “I am happy with my team and we played according to the established plan, and we could have scored a third and fourth goals, but we couldn’t complain.”

He concluded by saying: “The players are being praised for their great spirit. All the midfielders have done well and we have not made any mistakes in defense. I am happy with the result, but I would have been more happy to score more goals.”
