The Rainfall Forecast Center of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation warned of increasing chances of moderate and heavy rains on the northern coasts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The ministry confirmed that a state of emergency has been declared in the forecasting center, where there is an “early warning unit” in torrents that works by monitoring climatic phenomena, especially rainfall, through a remote sensing system.
The Irrigation Ministry has set up emergency rooms in the governorates linked to a central operations room that includes all ministry leaders, and the issuance of daily bulletins on the amounts of rain before they occur at 72, from the center forecast of the Ministry, in addition to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Authority, and which deals with all state agencies through a room. Electronic operations for monitoring news in real time, so that urgent measures are directed to reduce potential risks in light of daily forecasts and move any event from the ground to the operations room that includes all ministers and executive bodies of the country and those in charge of managing flood crises.
The Irrigation Ministry said that all the facilities and projects carried out by the organs and sectors of the ministry during the last period are prepared to face the rainy and torrential season with high efficiency without any impact on the facilities or areas they protect.
The Coastal Protection Authority has set up operations rooms at the general administration level for deployment that operate around the clock and cover the Mediterranean and the red shores of Bahrain, in addition to a central operations room in the main authority center to give follow-up and communicate with the authority teams in each department to receive any signal, where appropriate, regarding protection work, and the necessary coordination with the agencies.
