A source within the African Football Confederation (CAF) confirmed that Zamalek midfielder Ferjani Sassi was infected with the Corona virus, and would have no impact on the team’s match in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League scheduled for the next Sunday.
The source said in his statements to “Yallakora” on Friday: “The injury of a team player does not represent any problem for the celebration of the match.”
He continued: “If there are at least 5 injury cases on the team, then this is a problem. Otherwise, there is no problem.”
An African Union source revealed to “Yallakora” previously, that the clubs obtained the protocol in force in the African Champions League and the Confederacy in light of Corona’s time and the procedures followed in each case. (See details)
The same source explained that the final decision on the establishment or postponement of any club championship match will be in the hands of the Club Competitions Committee in the event that more players appear than allowed.
