The Arab contractors’ decision was postponed to fourth place in the league standings after losing to Enppi at home.
Enppi beat the Arab Contractors 2-0 at the Arab Contractors Stadium, on matchday 33 of the Egyptian League.
Mohamed Sharif scored an Enppi goal in the match, while Shukri Naguib missed a penalty for the Arab Contractors.
The victory lifted Enppi’s balance sheet to 48th place, moving up to fifth place, while Arab contractors’ balance sheet froze at point 53rd in fourth place.
Description of the match
Enppi arrived very early in the fifth minute. A long ball was snatched by Muhammad Sharif off the defender and went alone, then fired his left back at Mahmoud Abu Al-Saud, scoring the first goal.
Enppi pressed to continue, and received a penalty in the 25th minute. Mohamed Sharif scored the penalty himself, to add the second goal for the oil team.
The goal is Mohamed Sharif’s 14th this season, as the league’s second-highest scorer, behind Pyramids star Abdullah Al-Saeed with 17 goals.
Mohamed Sharif was alone again in the 41st minute, but this time he fired into the hands of Mahmoud Abu Al-Saud.
Return attempts
The Arab contractors try to get back to the meeting. And the start was with a shot from Shukri Naguib in the 43rd minute against his outside foot, but on the crossbar, and the first half ended with Enppi advancing with two goals.
Second half
In the second half of the game the attempts of the Arab Contractors continued. Taher Mohamed Taher shot in the 58th minute, but in the side net of Enppi’s goal.
Imad Al-Nahha pushed Mohamed Salem and Karim Mostafa in the 66th minute, instead of Hassan Al-Shami and Saif Al-Din Al-Jaziri
In the 66th minute, Taher Mujadid fired a set ball but hit the left post.
Match referee Abdel Aziz Al-Sayed awarded the Arab Contractors a penalty in the 70th minute after Enppi goalkeeper Mahmoud Gad sanctioned Taher Mohamed Taher.
Shukri Naguib took the penalty, but fired over the goal, wasting the chance for his team to get back into the game.
Helmy Tolan called Ahmed Ali Kamel and Mahmoghali in place of Mohamed Sharif and Hamid Maw in the 76th minute.
The contractors also reached Enppi’s goal in the 78th minute. A double bottom from the alternate Mohamed Essam, but just above the goal.
On the other hand, Enppi almost scored the third in the 82nd minute, only to Ahmed Ali, who hit the ball, but Mahmoud Abu Al-Saud advanced out of his penalty area and blocked the ball.
The referee called for a handball in Abu Al-Saud and dismissed the guard. But by returning to video technology, the referee found that the ball had hit Abu Al-Saud’s head to cancel his decision and resume the match with a drop.
The match referee counted 6 minutes as calculated time rather than lost, but did not witness the new, so the match ended with Enppi winning 2-0.
Golden Square accounts get complicated
The victory lifted Enppi’s balance sheet to 48th place, moving up to fifth place, while Arab contractors’ balance sheet froze at point 53rd in fourth place.
With that result, he finished sixth at the very least, and still had a chance to get to fifth.
As for the Arab Contractors, he still holds fourth place and needs one point to permanently guarantee it.
Smouha is in fifth place with 47 points and two games remain for them. Should Smouha win both games, he will level the Arab Contractors in points, who have one game left against Pyramids in the final round.
In the event that the two teams tie in points, they will resort to direct confrontations that refer to their tie in the two games. There is no rule to calculate the goal off the field with two goals in the Egyptian LeagueTherefore, the goal difference will be used.
The Arab Contractors are currently outscoring Smouha by a +2 goal difference, but Smouha’s victory by two matches inevitably means to make up for him by at least two goals difference and in return, the contractor’s defeat against Pyramids will mean that Smouha exceed goal difference in that case.
Fourth place gives its owner a chance to qualify for the African Confederation the following season, in the event that one of the league’s top three is crowned in the Egyptian Cup. The pyramids have already dropped out of the championship, so only Al-Ahly and Zamalek’s teams remain.
